I think we really need to step back and appreciate how truly nice these stats are.

The Chiefs were lined up on defense like they were going to have a four man pass rush, but after the play started the outside linebacker to Jones’ side, Justin Houston, dropped out to make it a three-man rush. Normally that would have meant any inside move by Jones would risk losing contain to Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz, who is a pretty mobile guy, but Jones beat Seumalo so cleanly that Eagles center Jason Kelce did not have a chance in hell of helping out, and Wentz was down on the ground before he could even think about trying to break containment. Jones was also able to get the ball out of Wentz’s hand for a fumble on that sack, but Eagles right tackle Lane Johnson ultimately recovered it.

Philly had a first-and-10 at its own 47-yard line. After showing off his wiggle on his first sack, Jones came back with a power rush on Brooks. He bulldozed Brooks right back into Wentz so violently that Wentz again lost the football. That time Wentz was able to recover the fumble himself, but he still ended up being tackled behind the line of scrimmage.

They won’t last; barring something catastrophic, Gronk will eventually catch another touchdown, and then he’ll just be at boring old 70.

The world is cold, cruel, and soul-crushing, so it’s important to appreciate the small things that bring us joy. Gronk’s time at 69 touchdowns is one of those special events. Someday, years in the future, we’ll look back on the week or weeks that we are currently experiencing, here, together, with Gronk, and sigh, saying to each other, Remember the 69th Festival of Gronkulus? What a blessed, nice time that was.

Le’Veon Bell appears to sarcastically congratulate Steelers GM Kevin Colbert

Le’Veon Bell has been training in Florida all preaseason due to a holdout. He hasn’t been with the team during training camp, or their preseason games, because he wanted a long-term contract with the Steelers.

Instead, the running back said he’ll report to the team this week, where he’s expected to sign his $12.1 million franchise tender. The money is less than he would have hoped to make, and his holdout had to lead to some frustrations with the front office.

Minnesota opted against picking up Peterson’s $18 million contract option in February, and the future Hall of Fame running back chose the Saints as his next team.

Peterson managed just 72 yards off of 37 carries last year before his season ended with yet another serious knee injury. Now healthy, the 32-year-old back will be reduced to a back-up role behind Mark Ingram, but he is still expected to get a plentiful amount of touches.

To Zimmer, this game may not be about Peterson, but Vikings fans likely had this game circled on their calenders ever since he signed with the Saints.

How long Hurney sticks this time is known only by reclusive Panthers owner Jerry Richardson. Hurney, 61, said the current plan is for him to handle GM duties for the length of the 2017 season, then “help target and possibly develop the next general manager down the road.” If he wanted to keep Hurney on a full-time basis, Richardson would have to open the position for an interview with at least one minority candidate under the NFL’s Rooney Rule requirement.

Asked why more GMs don’t get second chances, Hurney said, “I can’t answer that question. I mean, I’m still pinching myself surprised that I’m back here.”nike_steelers_3602

The Titans led 6-3 at halftime before the teams busted out for 44 points in the second half.

Tennessee rushed for 179 yards and three touchdowns against a Jacksonville defense that looked impressive in the Jaguars’ opening win over Houston. Jacksonville committed three turnovers, including two interceptions by quarterback Blake Bortles.

The Ravens continue to dominate AFC North opponents at home. Baltimore got two touchdown passes from Joe Flacco and another stingy defensive performance in its second straight easy win to open the season. Flacco improved to 16-2 against the Browns, who fell to 5-14-1 ATS in their past 20 games. Baltimore is on a 9-2 run ATS at home versus divisional opponents.

At Eagles camp on Sunday, he further explained that the protesters don’t represent the values of his hometown and called their actions despicable.

I haven’t seen statistics, but I’d be willing to bet the vast majority of people voicing those white supremacist sentiments were from out of town. The majority of the people that were defending our hometown against ideals like that were from Charlottesville, or students. It’s disheartening, but I really think it’s desperation for those folks to feel threatened by us doing the right thing, he said.

Game Womens Phil Simms Jersey Kyle Long also echoed his brother’s sentiment that their hometown should not be associated with the those participating in the hate rallies.

Obviously, people ask, ‘You’re from Charlottesville?’ It kind of leaves a bad taste in their mouths thinking that one of their guys is from Charlottesville, where they see all these rallies and stuff happening. Like I said, don’t let a few bad apples ruin what is really true about Charlottesville and that area — there’s good folks there, he said.

Jay Cutler threw 1 of the worst Hail Mary tries ever, but it may have been by design

Jay Cutler is making his debut with the Miami Dolphins and so far the gameplan has been pretty conservative. The former Broncos and Bears quarterback has a reputation for being a gunslinger, but he mostly stuck to short, efficient passing in the first half against the Los Angeles Chargers.

But with two seconds left in the half, Cutler let it rip down the field and … yikes.

The Chargers took the lead in the second quarter and didn’t fall behind until the Dolphins went ahead with 1:10 left in the game. Los Angeles responded on the next drive with large chunks of yardage on the first few plays and set up a potential game-winning field goal attempt.

But again Younghoe Koo’s attempt to save the Chargers in the final seconds of the game was no good. While his try in Week 1 was blocked, his 44-yard attempt against the Dolphins was just pushed wide right.

The Chargers finished 5-11 in their final season in San Diego, but somehow managed to blow a fourth-quarter lead in seven of those 11 losses. While the team didn’t have a lead in Week 1 against the Broncos at any point, the Chargers rallied and had a chance to tie.

Things just never seem to go right for the Chargers in crunch time.

“He watches a lot of guys who do it right and he applies it to himself. The whole team sees that and it just becomes contagious and we all grow as aJames Conner Youth Jersey whole,” Bryant said. “As for him, it’s outstanding. The guy is extremely young and the way he approaches his game is second to none. Some of the young quarterbacks I’ve seen in the past, they have all different kinds of brain farts. J.J. Watt’s Hurricane Harvey relief closes at a remarkable $37.1 million

Hurricane Harvey devastated the gulf coast and Houston. It inspired J.J. Watt to help the area, and he set out with a goal of $200,000. On Friday when his fundraising concluded, he had raised $37,097,248 from 209,428 donors, according to NFL.com.

At first, Watt simply tweeted a video where he talked about the storm, devastation, and his goal of $200,000. He started the campaign through YouCaring.

Fox was brought in because he was known for quick turnarounds: The Bears are 9-25 under him.

After that awful Trestman era, Fox was supposed to bring stability, competence and discipline that would shore up the ugly mistakes, miscues, penalties and general lack of preparedness that was demonstrated so often in 2014.

The Bears had four first-half turnovers and three first-half third down defensive penalties on Sunday.

And, perhaps most importantly, the blowouts were finally going to stop. Even if the roster was talent deficient, Fox was supposed to get the most out of his players and scheme to put them in a position to succeed, play in closer games and not get blown out.

But the Bears lost 29-7 in a game that was 29-0 until there was less than two minutes left.

So all of the supposed strengths of John Fox, all of the things he was supposed to do well, haven’t come to fruition at this point.

So I ask again: What exactly is John Fox bringing to the table? What is he giving the Bears that makes winless Septembers (0-8 under Fox in the first month) and Steve Smith Sr Jersey blow out week two games (outscored 106-44 in week two under Fox) and nearly two Bud Dupree Youth Jersey shutouts in 34 games is ridiculous.

The Bears were never shut out from 2003-2014, or 1990-1999. This could be the team’s second shutout in the Fox era.

I often get asked what I watch for on Sundays when I’m sitting in front of the TV.

The difference between Josh McCown’s 4.12 average in QB Tiers balloting and the Jets’ average opponent tier (2.58) marks the largest QB deficit for any team. That assumes McCown will start all 16 games, which he has never done in a season previously. It’s not looking like the Jets have an obviously better alternative, either.

I often get asked what I watch for on Sundays when I’m sitting in front of the TV. That answer is complex and based on the matchups. However, I’ve compiled a list of little nuggets you can watch for to enhance your NFL watching experience. Unfortunately, some of these depend on the camera angles, but when you watch the All-22 film, which I know most do, these will help you understand what’s going on.

You may be tempted to go full bandwagon and jump on board with the New England Patriots, but slow down. Something about one of the other 31 teams might command your attention and affection. So if you haven’t yet settled on a team, let us help you make an informed decision on every option in the league.

The 2017 preseason comes to a close on Thursday, but at least it’s going out with a bang. Thirty of the league’s 32 teams will be in action on Aug. 31, closing out our last football-less month with a flurry of late-round draft picks and undrafted free agents.

While Thursday night’s games won’t include many starters — franchises across the NFL will rest their stars in order to avoid the injury risks that claimed the seasons of Julian Edelman and Spencer Ware — it should hold plenty of intrigue. Week 4 is the last chance for players on the 53-man roster bubble to state their case as worthy additions to NFL squads. While some of the names on the field Thursday might be unfamiliar, you can expect a whole new level of effort as players try to make one final impression on their coaching staffs.

Source: Ravens’ Danny Woodhead (hamstring) out 6-8 weeks

Baltimore Ravens running back Danny Woodhead is expected to miss six to eight weeks with a hamstring injury, a source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The Ravens could decide to place Woodhead on injured reserve and bring him back around midseason as one of their two designated-for-return players.

Woodhead, who signed a three-year, $8.8 million contract (including $4.25 million guaranteed) this offseason with the Ravens, was injured on the team’s opening drive of the season Sunday. The 32-year-old running back fell to the ground holding his hamstring and had to be helped to the sideline by trainers.

Arians’ initial prognosis was that Johnson would be eight to 12 weeks. He said Tuesday night that Johnson is scheduled to have surgery this week to repair his wrist, which was injured during Sunday’s loss to the Detroit Lions. The Cardinals placed Johnson injured reserve on Tuesday, which means he would be out for a minimum of eight weeks and is eligible to return any time after that.

There wasn’t even a shudder from impact.

Kids Wilt Chamberlain Jersey There was just the sensation that the entire building was next to an immense floor buffer, spinning and vibrating at thousands of RPM. When that vibration turned into waves the roof flapped like a subwoofer, the air vents started spitting out pieces of insulating foam, and for one second I weighed the options of dying standing up and being crushed by the falling roof and lighting, or taking my chances ducking under a table, only to be crushed by all that plus one flimsy plywood table. The lights swayed 10 to 15 feet in either direction. The waves got stronger, and the entire overturned bathtub of the stadium was now being thumped by a very pissed off janitor pushing that giant floor buffer into the side of the Georgia Dome.

I was probably procrastinating some management type shit or not reading emails, but one thing led to another and I decided to re-configure the divisions based on team nicknames.

Here’s what that looks like, with a brief description about the logic for that division and a few thoughts about how it might shake out competitively. Feel free to take issue with any of this in the comments.

I’ve listed the teams in the order I think they would finish this season in these hypothetical divisions.

the Broncos led the league in defensive DVOA with a pass defense that was nearly 10 percentage points better than any other team.

Meanwhile, the Texans have released their home uniform schedule. As usual, they’ll wear solid-white for their home opener Sept. 10 against the Jaguars. They’ll also wear their red alternate jerseys on Dec. 10 against the 49ers.

It’s also worth noting that the Texans haven’t yet announced whether they’ll be adding a patch or helmet decal related to Houston’s recovery from Hurricane Harvey, but it seems highly likely that the team, and maybe the entire league, will make some sort of uni-related gesture. Stay tuned.

If you like the new look, enjoy it while you can because team owner Amy Adams Strunk has told reporters that the team will have a new uni design next season.

In fact, sportsbooks have capitalized on the ever-increasing desire for NFL coverage by releasing lines for Week 1 games months in advance. Market-setting sportsbooks like Westgate and Bookmaker opened their numbers way back in April, giving bettors four and a half months to analyze Week 1 lines.

In 2015, the Broncos led the league in defensive DVOA with a pass defense that was nearly 10 percentage points better than any other team. In 2016, the Broncos led the league in defensive DVOA with a pass defense that was nearly 20 percentage points better than any other team. I don’t think it would be safe to project that trend to continue — the Broncos have already lost DeMarcus Ware to retirement, Wade Phillips to the Rams, Shane Ray to injured reserve, and dumped T.J. Ward last week — but they could regress and still project to be the league’s best defense.

Kaepernick could absorb many good things from Wilson by working with him in practice.

You can lose credibility as a coach if you put someone in there the players don’t feel or believe in that that person is the right player, Marrone said. I know as a former player I felt that way going into it. You should a player be able to (say), ‘I know why he’s starting,’ because you’ve watched the practices, you’ve practiced against him, you know your teammate, you know what he’s doing. And then, obviously, it’s a result-oriented business. We have not won a lot of football games. We’ve got to put a team together that can go out there and compete and win games.

Authentic Mens Jon Bostic Jersey Since we broke down Kaepernick’s final six routes to such employment in late March, we’ve had the 2017 NFL draft and several more waves of free agency. File Fitzpatrick under Blaine Gabbert, who got a one-year deal from the Cardinals last week.

That leaves the Seahawks as the only NFL team that didn’t make a move for a QB, and still also has an issue at QB. Undrafted second-year man Treyvone Boykin, with his two-arrest offseason, remains the No. 2 to Russell Wilson.

Elite Mens Blake Comeau Jersey At one point, it seemed like Seattle was a shocking landing spot for Kaepernick. Now logically, beyond all the other reasons why Kaepernick is still unsigned, it’s the only spot.

Kaepernick could absorb many good things from Wilson by working with him in practice. Kaepernick’s footwork, accuracy and mechanics all have taken big hits in his regression. Wilson, meanwhile, has pushed those aspects of his game to the top of the league.

The two used to be a lot different personalities as younger QBs. Kaepernick was Kaepernicking, and Wilson was Go Hawksing. Kaepernick has gone from his shoes to issues, while Wilson has traded bland for bold. Meeting in the middle, they could mesh well on the same depth chart.
