MLB teams that were seriously considering signing Tim Tebow last year knew he represented a double-edged sword.
It was more, ‘This is something you have to do.’ It wasn’t an ask, McCutchen told reporters Friday (via MLB.com). It was more of [the team saying] that I have to move there and it’s for the betterment of the team. That’s one of the first times where that’s something I wanted to go against.

McCutchen, 30, says he still felt he could do the job in center.
It’s more difficult because I feel I can still play it, he said. I don’t feel like I’m at the end of my career.
